Overview
Hotel Zentral’s a stylish base for your ski holiday, tucked down a quiet street in the centre of Kirchberg. You’re close enough to the action for après drinks and shop mooching, but far enough back for proper downtime. The ski bus stop’s just a few minutes away on foot, and from there it’s a short hop to the lift. Back at the hotel, off-slope hours are well covered – start with a session in the Finnish sauna or steam baths, then maybe book in for a massage or treatment if you fancy.
Inside, it’s a fresh spin on traditional alpine style – light wood, soft colours and mood lighting that hits the cosy-but-modern sweet spot. Every room’s got a balcony with mountain views, and the whole building leans into that chalet look, with cream walls and timber balconies that glow softly in the evenings.
Breakfast is a help-yourself affair with a solid line-up – eggs, bacon, pancakes, fresh pastries, fruit, yoghurt and more. Fancy upgrading? Half board gets you a 4-course dinner, with a mix of Austrian favourites and crowd-pleasing classics, plus a buffet of starters to kick things off.

About Kirchberg in Tirol
Some say that Kirchberg is a smaller, quieter version of Kitzbuhel. The two are lift-linked, but Kirchberg is a resort in its own right. It's a largely unplanned village, lively and crowded, with lots of young Germans, Scandinavians and Brits here to enjoy the nightlife. It's quite attractive and the hospitality is excellent. Prices are generally lower here than some more mainstream resorts in Austria, although they are still comparatively high.
The ski area has an excellent range of long red runs and challenging blacks, as well as some decent blue pistes for the less experienced skiers. Boarders have a specialist park and a half-pipe, while 'langlaufers' have 40km of trails. Because of its link to Kitzbuehel, there are occasional queues and the bus to the lift can get crowded, as well as car traffic in the village. If you want more skiing, you can always invest in the 'Kitzbuheler Alpen' pass, for nearly 700km of unlinked pistes. Accommodation and eating are mainly hotel-based, but there are some excellent mountain restaurants for lunchtimes.
Overall, Kirchberg in Tirol is a good alternative to Kitzbuehel with great nightlife and accommodation.
