Les Houches
Traditional French charm with low-key atmosphere in the Chamonix Valley, with tree-lined slopes & impressive mountain views
Overview
Les Houches is an authentic, laid-back village at the entrance to the Chamonix Valley, offering 55km of gentle, tree-lined slopes and stunning alpine scenery without overly technical terrain.
The Savoyard-style village is made up of wooden chalets, small hotels and cosy bars, creating a relaxed atmosphere that’s quieter than nearby Chamonix. It’s a great base for families and couples, with easy bus links across the valley for exploring more ski areas.
Beyond skiing, you can try paragliding from the Prarion plateau, snowshoeing on marked trails, or enjoy family-friendly fun at the Skicamp activity area with sledging, tubing and zip-lining.
