Talisman Mountain Resort
Overview
Located in the town of Kimberly, in the heart of the Beaver Valley, Talisman Mountain provides avid skiers and boarders with one of the more challenging facilities in southern Ontario. There are 18 trails, ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced, which makes it an ideal destination for families with kids of all ages. There is also a terrain park for boarders and freeskiers to practise in.
The Talisman Mountain Resort, situated on site, is affordable (as are the daily lift tickets on the mountain) and offers a variety of après-ski facilities, including a fitness centre, restaurant and daily family activities. Its proximity to Toronto (it's about an hour and a half drive from the city) is a definite advantage. However, due to the limited number of runs and night-time entertainment, a week-long stay would become monotonous for intermediate and expert skiers and those who enjoy a wild bar scene.
