Owl's Head
Overview
Despite the success of other mountain resorts in the area, Owl's Head does not really measure up to the competition. With only eight chairlifts on the mountain, there are only limited slopes for skiers of any ability. Guests of the Auberge, located on the hill, often complain that customer service at the hotel is almost non-existent.
The food served in Owl's Head's only restaurant is mediocre at best and the nightlife and organised events are often disappointing. The self-catering apartments also located on-site are a much more attractive alternative to the Auberge. Although its location in Mansonville, on the Québec/Vermont border, is an appealing distance from Montréal, Owl's Head is an isolated spot, from which there are few available escapes from resort life.
The resort is probably best described as a worthwhile weekend getaway – though it is widely acknowledged that the resort is badly in need of a face-lift.
