Horseshoe
Overview
Entering its 36th season, Horseshoe Ski Resort is one of the most popular resorts in Ontario and lays claim to having the longest season in the province. Out of its 22 runs, 14 are lit for night-skiing. Other on-site activities for guests who enjoy a variety of winter sports include: skating, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The luxurious four-star Horseshoe Inn, located at the base of the hill, has a wide range of après-ski facilities. Both the Horseshoe Spa and the fitness centre offer services ranging from massage therapy and reflexology to pools and saunas.
Ontario is not the most challenging location for skiing in Canada and the length of the runs at Horshoe is said to be a source of disappointment for some guests. But the resort is only an hour's drive north of Toronto, so it provides a pleasant weekend vacation for families.
