Skiing Holidays in Serre Chevalier

A ski holiday in Serre Chevalier will not only take you to the home of Luc Alphand, the downhill world champion from 1995 to 1997, but will provide an environment of traditional, almost 'Provencal' charm. One hour and Forty minutes from Turin airport, Serre Chevalier, made up of 4 linked villages, offers a wide range of ski holiday solutions in beautiful surroundings.
Serre Chevalier Ski Holidays: The Skiing
Serre Chevalier has its own 250km of pistes and another 900km available with the Grande Galaxie Pass, which offers access to Montgenèvre and the Milky Way. Intermediate skiers are best catered for on a Serre Chevalier ski holiday, and beginners will also find plenty to do. Advanced skiers are best advised to head to the smallest village, Monetier, for some good black pistes and a considerable variety of off-piste terrain. Adding to the alpine charm of ski holidays in Serre Chevalier is the fact that the majority of the slopes are tree-lined. As the slopes are north-facing, they do hold snow much better than other resorts at a similar altitude. Snowboarders will find masses to do on a Serre Chevalier ski holiday, particularly those who are more advanced, with a specialist park and good off-piste.

Serre Chevalier Ski Holidays: Off the Snow

Ski holidays in Serre Chevalier are atmospheric, of good value and unpretentious, with a strong French feel. The restaurants serve good local fare, but a car is a good option, allowing you to try each village's eateries. Nightlife is fairly limited, although the bigger villages do have a nice selection of bars. Shoppers may prefer to head for Briançon with its more town-like amenities. Briançon is the best of the four villages if you are looking for off-snow activities.
