The Relais des Glaciers has been beautifully designed with no expense spared. Its unique designer touches
of wood panelled walls, antique furniture, Murano glass lighting and sumptuous Turkish carpets create a luxurious setting,
centered around an open fire. Food and wine are also a key part of the hotel’s reputation and the fine dining restaurant offers Italian local specialities. There is a traditional patisserie on site together with a wine tasting cantina. With a recently expanded wellness area with saunas, steam room, Roman bath and whirlpool together with a large outdoor whirlpool, the Relais des Glaciers is the ideal place to relax and unwind. It is just a short stroll to the shops of Champoluc and getting to the slopes is easy too, as there is a public ski bus
that stops outside the hotel every 20 minutes. The hotel also has its
own ski bus that runs every 30 minutes from 8am-11am and returns from

Apart from the first week in January, when half of Turin descends on Champoluc, this resort remains largely uncrowded. It's part of the Monterosa Ski area, in the Aosta Valley, with a combined total of around 200km of runs. Champoluc is a very Italian venue, with good food and après-ski, which revolves primarily around restaurants and bars. It's generally pretty quiet, with top scenery and largely intermediate skiing. There's some decent off-piste for better skiers, but you will have to cover large distances to get at all of the available tougher stuff.
Champoluc makes for an ideal family resort, but one recent visitor complained of less-than-satisfactory childcare. The ski school is good, but the lack of foreign languages spoken by instructors in Italy can be a slight stumbling block. Overall, Champoluc is very much an unspoilt resort, with lots of lift-linked skiing, best suited to intermediates.
