Sugarbush incorporates New England's highest mountains and the skiing is divided into 2 areas - Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen. The skiing best serves intermediates and experts, while the latter will particularly enjoy the skiing available on Castlerock.

Intermediates can muck around on the 'Adventure Trails', which offer tree- line skiing.

click here. Each separate area of the domain caters to skiers of the various ability levels. For example, beginners and families have their own specific section. Extreme skiing can be had at the smaller nearby resort of Mad River Glen. Snowboarders are welcomed and there are specialist parks for them. The snow is better than other Eastern resorts, but there is also substantial snowmaking potential.

Apart from the Grand Summit Hotel at the ski base, most people stay in Waitsfield, a local historic spot. Nightlife is more family-oriented, but there is a comprehensive range of restaurants and accommodation. Sugarbush is 300km from Boston and attracts weekend visitors. This can mean the occasional queue, but not to the degree that can be found on most days in Europe. Overall, Sugarbush is one of the better Eastern resorts, with plenty of variety, but more family-focused. It also boasts some great challenges for experts.
