Hotel Perren

Features

  • Terrace/Balcony
  • Fireplace
  • Bed and breakfast

Our most popular three-star, the Perren first opened its doors in 1939. Over the years, various members of the Perren family have run the hotel and added to the original building. In 2000, a complete renovation programme was started that saw the hotel completely transformed and it now offers some very comfortable accommodation as well as a friendly welcome from Patrick Perren and his extended family. There is a large lounge area with fireplace and piano - or you can have a game of snooker in one of the smaller sitting areas. The bar and A La Carte restaurant have been stylishly renovated with cow-hide stools.

Location

Situated by the river, the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the Sunnegga lift station or a bus stop to take you to the other ski areas. The centre of the village is also just a few minutes walk away.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms in the main part of the hotel were all renovated in 2000 and are extremely spacious with excellent marble bathrooms. Many of the south facing rooms have large balconies and views of the Matterhorn. There are several good options for communicating rooms for families. The rooms in the older part of the hotel are smaller but have also been renovated to offer a similar high standard for a 3-star hotel. The Perren also has 20 single rooms at good rates.

Facilities

The hotel itself has a sauna and Turkish bath.

Zermatt Resort Info

Zermatt skiing

Zermatt, according to some reporters, is as near as anywhere to perfection, so long as you are an intermediate or advanced skier. With vast and varied skiing that extends via a link with Cervinia into Italy, along with awesome scenery, Zermatt really is a great resort. The only downsides: a lack of choice for beginners and a bit of a trek to the lifts at times.

Zermatt ski resort

With amazing restaurants both on and off the mountain, a beautiful town that is traffic free apart from the electric taxis and great nightlife to suit all tastes, life down in resort isn't too shabby either. Add to this some great accommodation and good shopping and its easy to see why Zermatt is often described as "the perfect ski holiday destination". Only downside: as with a lot of Switzerland, it's not cheap.
