Half board

This traditional, comfortable and historic hotel opened over 100 years ago in 1855. Located in the heart of resort and just a 2-minute walk to the ski bus stop, the Hotel Monte Rosa is a beautiful, alpine hotel and offers the additional benefit of taking evening meals in any of the ten, beautiful Seiler sister hotel restaurants (except Christmas and New Year). This also includes the stunning, mountain lodge "Riffelalp".

Guests also have free use of the fabulous new health spa at the sister hotel, Hotel Mont Cervin. This includes a heated indoor and outdoor pool, whirlpools, Finnish sauna, steambaths, bio sauna and solariums.

Half board is provided in the form of a sumptuous buffet breakfast, 5-course evening meal with a choice of main course and starter, salad and dessert buffet and weekly gala dinner. It is a very stylish hotel in the heart of this amazing resort.

Accommodation

The Monte Rosa itself, has a cosy bar and lounge and all the bedrooms have private bath, WC, cable TV, bathrobes, minibar and safe. Baby listening monitors are available at reception.

Zermatt skiing

Zermatt, according to some reporters, is as near as anywhere to perfection, so long as you are an intermediate or advanced skier. With vast and varied skiing that extends via a link with Cervinia into Italy, along with awesome scenery, Zermatt really is a great resort. The only downsides: a lack of choice for beginners and a bit of a trek to the lifts at times.

With amazing restaurants both on and off the mountain, a beautiful town that is traffic free apart from the electric taxis and great nightlife to suit all tastes, life down in resort isn't too shabby either. Add to this some great accommodation and good shopping and its easy to see why Zermatt is often described as "the perfect ski holiday destination". Only downside: as with a lot of Switzerland, it's not cheap.
