It was back in 1936 when Peter Lindsay first visited Les Allues. He was overcome by the valley's beauty and tranquility and decided to set up a company to develop a brand new ski resort. Nearly 70 years on and we see Meribel as it is today. One of the most popular ski resorts in the world. Part of the three valleys, Meribel contains 94 miles of groomed runs and 17 miles of itineraries. Comprising of 9 blacks, 21 reds, 33 blues, 11 greens, 2 Olympic runs, 1 slalom stadium and 2 great snowboard areas.
A ski holiday in Meribel offers everything you could possibly want. There are numerous bars, ranging from sophisticated wine bars to good old fashioned pubs and not forgetting the infamous Dicks T bar nightclub. Food wise, Meribel has restaurants ranging from gourmet cuisine to traditional savoyard dishes.
If the purpose of your skiing holiday in Meribel is not just to ski, then there are a host of other activities such as swimming, skating on the Olympic ice rink, rock climbing, snow biking, paragliding, mountain flying and much more, plus a great range of shops to wander around in the village.
