Ski Holidays in Selva, Italy

Skiing Holidays in Selva

Part of the Dolomiti SuperSki, Selva Gardena and Santa Cristina are near enough joined to make up the largest resort on the Sella Ronda circuit. A ski holiday in Selva therefore gives you access to 175km of runs. The Sella Ronda is a big domain with a highly efficient lift system, 120km of snowmaking coverage, great scenery and is generally a good value ski holiday destination. Children get a better deal on a Selva skiing holiday than at many other Italian resorts, with under-sevens going free. German is spoken here and many locals call Selva 'Wolkenstein'.
The Skiing
There is no ski-in-ski-out accommodation in Selva, so you'll have to rely on free buses to the lifts and these can get crowded. Once on the slopes, Selva skiing has a lot to offer intermediates, though experts might be best heading to Arabba for decent challenges. Learners should find lots of good boarding/skiing on their ski holiday in Selva.

Off the Snow
The ski school in Selva has received mixed reviews, but most are positive. As a resort, Selva/Santa Cristina is a bit of a sprawler. There's a wide range of ski holiday accommodation here and eating on and off the mountain is first-class.Overall, Selva/Santa Cristina makes an excellent destination for a family ski holiday, with good après-ski and lots of non-skiing activities to keep everyone amused. There can be quite a lot of traffic and some queues, with long lift journeys being required to get at the very best Sella Ronda slopes. It's still well worth visiting, though…
