As one of the bigger ski resorts in the Milky Way, ski holidays in Sauze d'Oulx give you access to nearly 400km of runs. Intermediates are spoilt on Sauze d'Oulx ski holidays, but neither beginners nor experts are so well treated. Beginners have only a few nursery runs, while experts will have to travel considerable distances to find more challenging terrain. Boarders, however, will love the big, open pistes, the off-piste and the après-ski, but there are still a few draglifts to overcome.
The town itself is attractive, particularly the old centre. The ski school offers a rather varied level of instruction - your best bet is a younger instructor for good fun and excellent tuition. Restaurants on and off the snow in Sauze d'Oulx are decent and inexpensive.
Overall, Sauze d'Oulx is still a party ski holiday destination with the benefits of being in a massive ski area. It has a few faults, but does competently serve a specific market, while rapidly improving its appeal.
- Less expensive than many resorts
- Great night life
- Some good quality restaurants
