Val d'Isère skiing holidays cater brilliantly for the experienced skier. You can follow the 1992 Olympic course, the 'Face', or explore off-piste (remember to take a guide). There is also plenty to keep beginners and intermediates busy, with long wide blues and unaggressive reds, but, be warned, some of the piste grading is inaccurate with some greens being more like tough reds… The Grande Motte glacier above Tignes means year-round ski holidays and the high altitude brings good, regular snow.

Take great skiing on stunning mountains, add in great après-ski, strong ski schools and pricey but good restaurants and it's not difficult to see why Val d'Isère is so popular. Because of this, the resort can get busy, even though the lift system is first-class and constantly being upgraded. The range of ski holiday accommodation is vast, and there is also lot's to do for the non-skiers in Val d'Isère.
