The Niederau ski season is quite short due to a poor snow record, which can undermine the runs back to the resort and leave a limited amount of skiing. For boarders spending their ski holiday in Niederau, the nearest park and half-pipe are found in Auffach. You can buy the 'Kitzbuheler Alpen' pass for nearly 700km of runs and, as another visitor commented, 'the après-ski and general atmosphere make up for any lack of snow'.

Niederau itself is largely unspoilt by commercialism and boasts a sedate family appeal. Ski accommodation in Niederau is located near to the slopes and is of a good standard and variety. The après-ski is good, neither too quiet nor too loud, and prices are generally lower than many other Austrian resorts. There isn't a great deal for non-skiers to do on ski holidays, but nearby Oberau offers some traditional winter pursuits. Transfers are short, with Innsbruck 45 minutes away.
