Aspen Resort Guide By Robert Bates | |
| | | Introduction -
There are few places on earth like Aspen. The quintessential Colorado ski town manages to mix history, culture and, if you want it, sophistication with an eminently liveable atmosphere.

|
Yes, it's expensive at times if you want it to be, but it's a place where glitz and glamour mingle side by side with duck tape inspired fashions; where you can stay at the St Regis for $1000 a night, shop at Prada and Gucci by day and dine out for hundreds more every evening.
But it's also a place where you can head where the locals head; share a beer and stories over pizza for less than what it costs back home, grab a great steak for $18 and probably have a few CEO's in the restaurant with you.
Aspen can be almost anything you want it to be – you've just got to want to search enough to find it.

Robert Bates stayed at the Molly Gibson Lodge, 3 blocks from the centre of downtown Aspen. Special thanks go to Erin Pigman and Maureen McDonald Poschman of Promo Inc. for arranging everything.
