Pre-booking Information

Booking a ski holiday can be a bit of a minefield - especially if you have not done so before! Our sales team cannot tell you everything before a holiday booking, so hopefully this will go some way to answering a few questions that you may have, and make you aware of certain things that you may not have realised about the booking process.

We are here to help you book your perfect ski holiday – so, as always, if you have any questions what-so-ever it is always best to ask! – an ABTA bonded travel agent

We are a travel agent, which means that we have got access to thousands of holidays. As we are completely independent, we do not favour any one particular Tour Operator. We are only interested in finding you the most suitable holiday based on your requirements at the best possible price.

Our booking service is completely free to you; we earn our money by commission paid to us by the Tour Operator, which is taken out the Tour Operators holiday cost, not yours! THE PRICE YOU PAY USING US IS NO DIFFERENT TO WHAT YOU WOULD PAY GOING DIRECT!

As an agent, all holiday bookings are made with the Tour Operator who run every aspect of the holiday. It is therefore their Ts&Cs that govern all aspects of your holiday, from, for example, payment terms and cancellation charges to flight times and travel arrangements. It is therefore important that you are aware of the specific Tour Operators Ts&Cs before you book your holiday; please refer to the Tour Operators website or brochure for more information.

We are a Member of ABTA (P6734) which means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. All the package and Flight-Plus holidays we sell are covered by a scheme protecting your money if we or the supplier fails.

The Team

Our knowledgeable sales team initially deal with your holiday enquiry and will take you through the booking process. Following a booking our friendly aftersales team will look after you post-booking, and answer any queries you may have.

Please be aware that we record all our phone calls for monitoring and training purposes.

The most common things to be aware of BEFORE you place a booking:

1.    Deposit/Final Balance Payments
If you make a booking with us prior to 12 weeks of the holiday start date, we will  need to collect a deposit payment to secure your booking. We will ask for final balance around 12 weeks before your holiday. If your holiday is booked within 12 weeks of the holiday start date the full holiday cost will need to be collected. Failure to pay the full balance at the required time may result in your holiday being cancelled with the loss of your deposits paid.

2.    Lead name
The person making the booking is referred to as the lead name, or group leader. It is important for the lead name to understand that they are acting on behalf of the whole group, that they accept the terms of the Tour Operators booking conditions (T & Cs), and that they are responsible for the full cost of the holiday. This ensures that the group leader fully understands the history of the booking, and makes decisions based on that, rather than repeating information to other members of the group. It is for this reason that we only communicate and take instruction from the lead name. It is also their responsibility to pass on any communication/information about the holiday to the other members of the group, and any questions back to us are via the lead name.

3.    Price fluctuations

Please be aware that all prices are subject to possible changes until you confirm your booking. This is down to a number of factors including, but NOT limited to exchange rate fluctuations, scheduled flight price fluctuations, charter flight availability, special offer availability, group discount structures etc. Once you find a holiday that you like at a price that suits you, our strong advice is ALWAYS to make your booking as soon as possible.

Please also note that extras prices may fluctuate until they have been added to your booking. To be clear, this means that if you are quoted prices for extras such as lift passes, ski hire, ski lessons etc. at the time of placing your booking, these prices are subject to change until you add them in to your booking.

4.    Group discount
Group discount is often given to larger groups. This will be included in any costings given in writing. Please be aware!…if your group size subsequently changes, the group discount may also change. Particularly, this can affect you if your group size goes down. However, when group size increases you will not normally qualify for additional group discount.

5.    Passenger names
If taking flights, title, full first name and surname as per passport are required. Most Tour Operators WILL charge for any spelling mistakes in a name or name changes!

6.    Special requests

If you have any specific requirements about your holiday please do make us aware of these at the time of enquiry. We can pass on any requirements or requests to the Tour Operator, however these cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing by the Tour Operator.

7.    Special offers

Many holidays have special offers attached to them, and if they are applicable to your booking we will apply these. Please note however that any special offers must be discussed and arranged at the time of booking, and is shown in writing on our booking confirmation. If you believe that an offer should have been applied but you cannot see it on the confirmation or the invoice, you must inform us straight away! Special offers or further discounts cannot be applied retrospectively to a booking.

8.    Cancellations
All holidays purchased via are done so under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. These state that refunds, date changes or cancellations cannot be made free of charge, following a booking.

If group members or holidays do need to be cancelled, the request must be made in writing by the group leader only; you will then be advised of the full cancellation costs prior to this being actioned. Cancellations and costs are based on the tour operator's terms and conditions. Please note, that there will also be an cancellation fee of £25 per person cancelling, on top of any charges levied by the tour operator. Please also refer to the above paragraph in relation to group discount being potentially affected. We cannot accept verbal cancellations, nor can we accept cancellations from anyone other than the group leader.

If your booking includes scheduled flights (e.g. EasyJet, BA, Swiss etc.) the tour operator's cancellation charges may include full cancellation costs for the flights. For example, if you have paid a deposit of £800 but the total cost of the flights on your booking is £1,500, the tour operator's Terms & Conditions may mean that you are liable to pay the difference. In this example, if cancelling your holiday after paying the deposit but BEFORE paying your final balance, you would be required to pay the additional £700 (i.e. the difference between the deposit paid to date and total cost of the schduled flights) upon cancellation.

If you are unsure as to whether your booking may be affected by this, PLEASE ASK your sales consultant at the time of placing your booking.

9.    Flight times

Please be aware that any flight times given are provisional and may change. Times and other details may change even after you have received your tickets, subject to the Tour Operator's terms and conditions.

10.    Credit card payments
Following new EU legislation regarding credit card charges, we no longer accept credit card payments for final balance payments or any ski extras payments. If booking more than 12 weeks before your departure date, we do accept credit cards for deposit payments only without any handling fee. Our preferred payment method for balance payments in bank transfer, although you are still welcome to settle your balance by a debit card payment if you prefer.

What happens when a booking is made?

Following your booking, you will receive a booking confirmation email from us, with a Receipt attached, which outlines the main aspects of your holiday. In addition, we will forward the Tour Operators invoice and other relevant information when we receive it.

We will require certain things following a booking, for example, any dietary requirements or any ski holiday requirements - ski carriage, ski hire etc. This is best done at the time of booking, but can be added later if required. You will be kept in the loop of what is required at every step of the way.

You will need to arrange any necessary passport/visa/insurance requirements for your group’s forthcoming holiday, which is ultimately your responsibility.

Is that it?

If there is anything at all that you need to know, just ask; we love to talk ‘ski’ and we love getting people booked onto the right ski holiday.

We look forward to doing just this!

Happy holiday planning!
