The Job: Ensure the little darlings are kept amused, well fed and safe. Organising daytime activities. Controlling the budget of the crèche or kids club. Expect to work 5 days a week with the children. In addition, some companies will expect you to help on changeover day.

The Requirements: Nannies will usually require a NNEB qualification or equivalent. Kids club leaders need childcare experience. Minimum age is 18. Stamina, enthusiasm and patience.

The Perks: Free ski pass on your day off. Free equipment hire. Extra money from babysitting. The parties (and we're not talking jelly and ice cream).

The Downside: Time on the mountain may be limited to one or two days a week. Be prepared for changing a nappy and wiping noses. You may not make your millions but you may be better paid than chalet staff .
