One thing that's guaranteed in my role, as Overseas Administrator is that
no two days are ever the same!
I have barely had time to recover from the busy transfer day at Geneva Airport
when I awake on Sunday morning with ski leading on the agenda. Let's hope
that it's a blue ski and a fresh powder day.
A certain amount of each day will be spent at my desk. Perhaps checking
e-mails, updating the accounts, phoning the wine or wood supplier or answering
a query form a worried chalet host. Dealing with the stream of fax paper
with the next week's manifest, responding to a query from the head office,
or reading through the all important guest questionnaires.
Photocopying, filing, the list goes on... I may also spend part of my
day around about the resort perhaps visiting a supplier or at the bank.
I work closely with the Resort Manager and need to be a good team member.
If a chalet girl falls ill them I may need to test my culinary skills at
short notice!
It's a very varied role but some how I always manage to have the energy
to enjoy the lively nightlife to the full. I'm fortunate in that the bars
are downhill from my apartment so with the help of sledge I'm there even
quicker! |
