Snow Overview - Italy  (snow news updated 24-May-2013)

Three lifts are open at the moment on the glacier at Presena (450cm) with access to two runs. While skiing is fairly limited the snow is in great condition and there’s still a huge amount of it, which should ensure a great summer ski season for them. A dusting of snow fell on the glacier on Wednesday 22nd May and lots more is expected this weekend.

European Weather Outlook

The coming week will see wet weather across the Alps. Rain will fall in almost all places. Unfortunately the freezing level is set to increase, to over 3000m at times, meaning it is likely to be a wet end the week in the Alps. In Scotland, again changeable weather is forecast. The freezing level is forecast to remain relatively high this week, above 1000m, before dropping next week when more snow could fall.
