Chalet Verseau

Features

  • Sleeps 6 (2 available)
  • Catered chalet

Location:
Chalet Verseau is a chalet apartment located in the Altitude Val 2400 Residence in the Balcons area of Val Thorens. It is ideal for those wanting quick access to the slopes – the complex is just 200 metres (approx.) from the piste and the ski lifts are a 5 minute walk away. Alternatively, if your ski legs need a rest, you can catch the ski bus from right outside the complex. The centre of Val Thorens is a 10 minute (approx.) walk and there are several pubs, restaurants and ski shops nearby.

Chalet Verseau is excellent value for a snow-sure resort of this calibre. The open-plan living/dining area is decorated with lovely local furnishings and comes complete with wood-burning stoves, giving a cosy and intimate atmosphere. The large balcony allows you to take in the mountain air in peace, while the chalet’s convenient location on the second floor of the residence (accessed via a lift) also means that guests can benefit from the use of the swimming pool and sauna in the Altitude complex.

Chalet Layout:
Room 1 = double with shared balcony, private bath and WC (not en suite)
Room 2 = twin (beds close together) with shared balcony, private shower and WC (not en suite)
Room 3 = small twin (beds close together), private shower and WC (not en suite)
Open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with wood burning stove and balcony

Meals:
Start your ski day with fresh bread, a choice of preserves, cereals, porridge (on request), yoghurts, fresh fruit, fruit juice as well as tea and coffee, plus a cooked option of eggs and two other hot items. Hot items include bacon, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, baked beans and mushrooms (or equivalent).

  • A hearty breakfast
  • On your return from the slopes
A freshly baked cake or biscuits with tea and coffee awaits you
  • In the evening
Enjoy a delicious freshly cooked 3 course meal with house wine until coffee for one night less than the duration of your holiday.

Breakfast and dinner will be served on 6 out of 7 days and a continental breakfast will be left out on 1 morning.

Chalet staff live out.

Val Thorens Resort Info

Val Thorens skiing

At 2300m, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe, meaning the resort has a great snow record. Put simply, if there's no snow in Val Thorens then there's no snow anywhere! Forming part of the 600km Three Valleys ski domain, Val Thorens' extended skiing is excellent, with intermediates being particularly spoilt for choice. Advanced skiers also have plenty to play on with big moguls and access to the Maurienne Valley for off-piste adventures. In addition there's an excellent Snowpark to keep freestylers busy. Beginners too can enjoy Val Thorens with several gentle greens and easy blues scattered around the resort. There is no better all-around ski area anywhere in Europe, possibly the World.

Val Thorens ski resort

As the resort is traffic-free and purpose-built, most accommodation options offer ski-in-ski-out accessibility. As well as being Europe's highest resort and part of the biggest linked ski area, Val Thorens has gained a reputation in recent years as a lively apres ski destination. The arrival of the raucous Folie Douce and the slightly more chilled Bar 360 mean that your apres ski party begins on the slopes in mid-afternoon. Back in resort you've got a choice of several bustling pubs, including Europe's highest in the Frog and Roastbeef. If you're still thirsty for more then the Alps' biggest underground nightclub, Malaysia, stays open almost until first lifts in the morning!

It's not all partying though. Val Thorens has developed many facilties over the years, including an indoor leisure centre with pool, extensive shopping, ice-driving, the list goes on!
