Val d'Isère Resort Info

Val d'isère skiing

Val d'isère is justifiably ranked up there with the best resorts in the world. Lift linked with Tignes with which Val d'isère makes up L'Espace Killy, there are 300km of varied pistes to please everyone from beginners to pros. Expert skiers and snowboarders are particularly spoilt for choice in Val d'isère with the 1992 Olympic course, the 'Face', plenty of off-piste (remember to take a guide) and a world class snow park.

Val d'isère ski resort

Val d'isère has not only world class skiing but also boasts some world class après ski. The Folie Douce at the top of la Daille gondola is probably the most famous of Val d'isère's après haunts but is far from the only one. Restaurants on and off the mountain are pricey but good, which added to a good range of accommodation and lot's to do for the non-skiers makes it easy to see Val d'isère's attraction.

Snow Overview - France  (snow news updated 04-May-2016)

Only ten of our featured resorts in Austria remain open for snowsports on Thursday 28th April, with this weekend set to see further closures. Good late season skiing still available across many resorts, particularly across the high glacial resorts where some good snowfall over the course of the week ensuring that pistes across the upper mountain remain in good condition. The cloud affecting many resorts on Thursday is set to hand around over much of the weekend, with fluctuating temperatures seeing the possibility of some light snow and rain fall during this period.

European Weather Outlook

The Alps is still very much in the grips of winter currently, with fresh snow having fallen across much of Europe over the past week. Further falls are forecast across many regions of the Alps over the coming days, although totals are expected to be much more moderate than previous falls. However, the freezing level is expected to rise over the weekend, with rain falling across the lowers slopes of many resorts as a result. Temperatures will look to return to seasonal norms during the early part of next week, with the sun also set to make an appearance.
