Chalet La Grande Sassiere
Features
Grande Sassière has the most amazing sitting-dining room in Val d’Isère. The room itself is large and lovely with acres of parquet and panelling, and massive roof beams, and the views from it are simply extraordinary. The south wall is solid glass, and the only view as spectacular as the moon on the mountains at dinner is the sun on Solaise at breakfast.
There are six excellent bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Four have the same view south, one looks west, and one has to make do with small windows looking up a mere square mile or so of mountain.
Obviously, the views wouldn’t be such a feature if the chalet were down on the main street. Grande Sassière is four minutes’ walk up a private road from the valley floor, another minute from the bus stop, twelve in all from the centre. A private shuttle service is provided between 8.30am - 10am and 3.30pm - 8pm to take you anywhere you wish in Val d'Isere.

Val d'Isère Resort Info
Val d'isère skiing
Val d'isère is justifiably ranked up there with the best resorts in the world. Lift linked with Tignes with which Val d'isère makes up L'Espace Killy, there are 300km of varied pistes to please everyone from beginners to pros. Expert skiers and snowboarders are particularly spoilt for choice in Val d'isère with the 1992 Olympic course, the 'Face', plenty of off-piste (remember to take a guide) and a world class snow park.
Val d'isère ski resort
Val d'isère has not only world class skiing but also boasts some world class après ski. The Folie Douce at the top of la Daille gondola is probably the most famous of Val d'isère's après haunts but is far from the only one. Restaurants on and off the mountain are pricey but good, which added to a good range of accommodation and lot's to do for the non-skiers makes it easy to see Val d'isère's attraction .
