The Chalet L'Ecrin hotel is built from timber in the traditional Savoie style and oozes charm and luxury inside and out. The interiors are cosy and comfortable with local wood paneling and a large lounge at the heart of the Chalet with inviting sofas around an open fireplace. The restaurant is a perfect setting for skiers to re-group after a day on the slopes with small and large group tables available creating a lively, fun atmosphere.

Location

This stylish 52 room chalet hotel is positioned above the village of Tignes Le Lac in the ever popular satellite village of Tignes Val Claret which is only a ten minute walk (or one minute bus ride) to the 5 main lifts. The high snow-sure resort of Tignes, part of the combined Tignes & Val d'Isère ski area, offers over 300km of pistes and is perfect for all levels of snow sports enthusiasts. The Chalet Hotel L'Ecrin provides a stylish, welcoming base for groups, families and solo travellers. 

Rooms

Warm and cosy guest rooms with embroidered fabrics and carved wood furnishings welcome you. 

Choose from twins, doubles, interconnecting and family bedrooms, many with balconies.

Room amenities include a flat screen TV, hairdryer, minifridge and free WiFi access.

 

Facilities

After a hard day on the slopes, guests can visit the beautiful spa, with four therapy rooms and a range of treatments on offer from massages to manicures. The impressive swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and Turkish bath enable weary skiers to relax and re-energise in a beautiful surrounding.

 

Meals

Offered on a catered chalet basis, your holiday will include a cooked and continental breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee and cakes, and freshly prepared 3 course dinner accompanied by a choice of complimentary, quality wines followed by coffee.

The traditional Savoie style flows through to the restaurant and bar. Small and large group tables are available and guarantee a lively, fun atmosphere.

A high tea is available for children 12 years and under. 

One evening a week dinner is not served in the chalet hotel allowing you the opportunity to dine out at one of the excellent local restaurants.

Tignes Resort Info

Tignes skiing

Lift linked to Illustrious neighbour Val d'Isère to make up the Espace Killy, the Tignes ski area is, needless to say, vast and varied. The 300km of marked pistes cater for all levels and tastes with great off-piste, long wide blues and two snowparks (with another, even better one, over in Val d'Isère). Tignes also has the Grande Motte glacier providing year-round skiing. The glacier and Tignes' high altitude, make this resort for a great early or late season ski holiday destination. The whole area is serviced very well by an efficient lift system and the five 'satellites' that make up the resort are all linked by free bus.

Tignes ski resort

Due to its 1960s heritage, Tignes is not exactly famous for its Alpine charm. However, off-snow activities have improved somewhat over the last few years. There are a nice range of decent restaurants and bars whilst there are supermarkets for the largely self-catering crowd. Nightlife and après ski is pretty healthy and families are greatly welcomed with good childcare run by the ski schools. Overall, Tignes is not a place that relies upon Alpine ambience. But hey, who cares when the days are filled with such great skiing.
