'Serre Chevalier', home of Luc Alphand, the downhill world champion from 1995 to 1997, is found near the Italian border. Offering indirect links to Montgenèvre and the Milky Way, it has its own 250km of pistes and another 900km available with the Grande Galaxie Pass. All our featured French resorts are yet to open for the 2012 season.

European Weather Outlook

Unfortunately it is set to be a wet and rainy week for the majority of European resorts. The good news is that snow may fall at a handful of higher altitude resorts in France, Italy and Switzerland. For instance, Chamonix and Nendaz could enjoy 11cm on Wednesday 2nd May.
