'The most expensive resort in the French Alps'? Only partially true. Sat next to Val Thorens and Méribel, Courchevel is the most easterly of the Trois Vallées (the ski maps are back to front!) It is made up of four separate parts, each with their own character.
Directly below 1850, the small hamlet of 1550 seems a slightly sleepy alternative dominated by self catering and privately owned chalets. On the plus side, 1550 essentially shares it location with 1850 allowing for easy access to the whole 3 Valleys circuit without the expenses incurred from staying higher up the hill.
