Rooms

There are a variety of room types available to suit your party size.

Deluxe sleeps 1-3. Spacious and equipped with a furnished balcony. It is perfect for couples and for families with one young child. An armchair that converts into a bed, separated from the rest of the room by a curtain, offers the perfect sleeping space for young children (11 years of age and younger).

Interconnecting Deluxe - sleeps 1-6. Large families love the space and atmosphere of this combination of rooms. The living room corners can be transformed into sleeping spaces for children (11 years of age and under), ideal for growing families.

Family Deluxe - sleeps 1-4. This large family room offers the pleasure of plenty of space combined with harmonious colours and materials. It features a balcony, a lounge area and two distinct night-time spaces for children and parents

Superior Room - sleeps 1-2. With wood-panelled walls, floral motifs, including an edelweiss on the floor, and a bell by way of a bedside lamp, the room has a welcoming mountain feel about it. The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by wooden sliding doors.

Interconnecting Superior Room - sleeps 1-4. Families love this arrangement. The rooms are communicating and create a big space that kids and adults can share. The decor puts the focus on mountain life, with wooden furniture, shimmering colours and pretty, floral motifs

Superior Room With Balcony - sleeps 1-2. The wood, the edelweiss on the floor and the bell by way of a bedside lamp give this room a lovely atmosphere. The room is spacious and attractively decorated and opens onto a furnished balcony.

Interconnecting Superior Room With Balcony - sleeps 1-4. The generous space offered by this layout is particularly popular with families and celebrates the mountain lifestyle. The wood-panelled walls and typical Savoyard details, like the bell and the edelweiss, give it a cosy chalet feel.

Family Superior With Balcony - sleeps 1-4. The room is ideal for families and is designed with 2 separate night-time spaces, a bathroom and a furnished balcony. The room pays homage to mountain tradition. The wood, the bell and the floral motifs typical of Savoie, such as the edelweiss, are all traditional features of alpine chalets.

Exclusive Collection Space Suite - sleeps 1-2. With its panoramic view of the mountains and its refined decor celebrating the skills of the 17th century Valle d'Aosta lacemakers, the Suite is a veritable shelter. The headboard pattern goes particularly well with the wood and the warm colours. The living room and the bedroom open onto a furnished balcony where you can gaze at the Alps.

Exclusive Collection Space Junior Family Suite - sleeps 1-4. From your furnished balcony you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Alps with your family. Inspired by local tradition, the decoration elegantly reinterprets the skills of the valle d'Aosta lacemakers with the headboard motifs.

Exclusive Collection Space Family Suite - sleeps 2-5. Admire the Alps from the living room or the furnished balcony. The panoramic view of the mountains is sublime! Generous space and a delightful mountain atmosphere give this Suite an Alpine chalet feel.

Gourmet Lounge Bar - Just sit back and relax with a cocktail and admire the stunning view across the valley, or try a glass of wine from Savoie or the Aosta Valley with a plate of charcuterie, or just a delicious hot drink after a great day of skiiing, all this and more awaits you in the Bar at the Gourmet Lounge. Enjoy the cosy ambiance of the place that looks just like a mountain chalet.

Main Bar - The welcoming atmosphere of the bar with its wooden furniture is a great place to hang out.

La Rosière 1850 Resort Info

La Rosière skiing

La Rosière is built in traditional chalet style high up on the road from Bourg-St-Maurice to the Petit St Bernard pass to Italy. In winter the road ends at a car park at the top of La Rosière, just below the main lifts. There’s a small main village and an even smaller, newer satellite (Les Eucherts), a short bus ride – or a floodlit forest walk – to the east. La Rosière is lift linked with the Italian resort of La Thuile and has a great snow record. The two resorts, although unlikely stablemates, form a substantial ski area with plenty of long wide runs to please intermediates. La Rosière also provides a useful gateway to some exciting heli-skiing over in Italy, enabling locals and ski holiday makers in France (where heli-skiing is banned) to heli-ski in Italy to their hearts' content (bookable through the Evolution 2 ski school), before returning to France's Tarentaise Valley. The combined area has 33 lifts and 135km of pistes.

The main draw back for those wanting to ski the Italian side is that the lift link is a long pomma lift and not suitable for beginners, young children or snowboarders not proficient in riding long pommas.

La Rosière ski resort

La Rosière, although purpose built, is a gem of quintisential alpine charm. Off Piste activites are limited, although visitors are happy enough whiling away the evenings in the relaxed bars and restaurants (the Petit Danoise is popular and offers Sky tv sports coverage plus internet access)  The locals are friendly and the prices are cheaper than most other Tarentaise resorts.
