Flaine Resort Info
Flaine skiing
Nestled at the heart of the Grand Massif ski area, Flaine is lift-linked to Samoens, Morillon and Les Carroz, with 265km of piste in total.
The skiing is extensive and varied, leading Flaine to acquire the nickname "the white desert" for its excellent snow. With trees, moguls, motorways, and great off-piste, all levels of skier will find something to suit. Boarders and freestyle skiers also have a park, and a boardercross course.
Flaine ski resort
Visitors undoubtedly come to Flaine for its skiing rather than its Alpine charm, with the town itself being constructed in the 1960s style. Most ski holiday accommodation in Flaine is of a good standard and is more often than not "ski-in-ski-out", although upgrading is needed for some of the many self-catering apartments, which can be 'bijou' to say the least.
Flaine doesn't offer a whole lot in the way of off-snow activities and après ski is rather limited. However, excellent ski schools, a short transfer from Geneva (90 mins) and a car free environment make Flaine a great destination for family ski holidays.
