Utah Olympic Ski Venues - Snowbasin
Snowbasin is the largest ski area in Utah, with 3200 skiable acres and a 3,400 ft vertical drop. Put that together with an average annual snowfall of 400 inches, and you have a holiday formula that's going to be hard to beat.
For the Visitor
In preparation for the 2002 Olympic Games, four new lifts have been installed. This includes two 8-passenger Gondolas, one High Speed detachable Quad, and one "Jigback" Tram. So make your preparations. Why spend your vacation waiting in lift lines when you can be skiing Snowbasin?

During the Games
Snowbasin will be the site of the speed events at the 2002 Olympics: the Downhill, Combined and Super-G. The Downhill course is designed by Olympic Gold Medallist Bernard Russi, with an 880m vertical drop and 74% starting gradient. In the Super-G, if Daron Rahlves can repeat his St Anton World Championship success and steal the Super-G gold from the likes of Hermann Maier, you know the American home crowd will make it a day to remember.
The Olympic schedule at Snowbasin:

Women's Downhill | Monday 11th February, 2002 |
