No season is packed with more anticipation. The looming of the first winter snowfall has skiers and snowboarders tuning their gear, planning vacations to the mountains, and checking every snow conditions site on the web. And now, to accelerate the anticipation level to full throttle, the premiere of the all-new Warren Miller film, IMPACT, is coming soon to a cinema near you!

For the last 55 years, Warren Miller movies have inspired generations of would-be ski bums to quit their day jobs, move to the mountains, and live happily ever after. Featuring the best winter athletes of our time, in the most beautiful and pristine locations, IMPACT has a powerful appeal to audiences everywhere. The 55th annual film sweeps you on an untamed adventure: From the jagged peaks of Chamonix, France to the wide open backcountry of Montana; and from the death-defying steeps of Alaska to the snorkel-deep champagne powder of Steamboat, Colorado.

Warren Miller doesn't stop at delivering an incredible film every fall: the tour itself is half the fun. Each stop on the IMPACT nationwide tour is a high-energy event: a party to kick off the official start of winter. Electrified audiences line up year after year for this proven box office winner and live theatrical event with goodie bags for every filmgoer and huge prize giveaways every night from Hugo Boss Fragrances and Watches, Nike ACG, The Daily Telegraph, Ski Lake Tahoe, Nissan, United Airlines, World Ski and the Ski Club of Great Britain.

With Former Olympic mogul skier Sean Smith explaining the four rules of skiing - Skiing and thinking don't mix; All falls begin with a turn; You can't get hurt in the air and Always make an Impact, this fantastic production takes viewers to amazing destinations across the globe including:

  • Heli to Points North, Alaska
The state of Alaska spans for a total of 365.5 million acres, much of which is pristine backcountry with the only way to access most of this skier's paradise being via helicopter. Big mountain veterans Dan Treadway and Micah Black share their mixture of excitement, elation and fear before carving turns down steeps where few would dare tread.

  • Powder and a 4-year-old phenom: Snowmass, Colorado
Skiing in waist-deep powder, Snowmas local Chris Davenport seems to float, more than ski, down Snowmass' steep, before meeting up and carving some turns with 4-year-old ski racer Bridger Gile. Gile is a miniature racer who can make skiers eight times his age look like novices, and, as Warren says: "When he tucks, he's only 14 inches tall, but when he free skis, he's a giant."

  • Jeep King of the Mountain NASTAR National Championship: Park City, Utah
Former U.S. Ski Team members AJ Kitt, Daron Rahlves and Doug Lewis set the course for over 1,100 NASTAR racers of all ages, genders and abilities as they vie for the title of national NASTAR champion. Competitors range from 4-year-olds to a 90-year-old Georgia resident who enjoys showing off his retro rear-entry ski boots.

  • Is a 60-degree slope skiable?: Chamonix, France
Hilaree Nelson O'Neil, a current extreme skier who has claimed first tracks in unmapped regions of China, Lebanon, Tibet and Mongolia, returns to the area where she learned her big-mountain skiing skills. Joined by skiers Stefan Dan and Jeremy Nobis, and with the help of local guide Jacques Quenot, O'Neil puts the extreme in extreme skiing with a run down the Col des Cristaux, where a mistake or fall could have dire consequences.

  • Competition and heli adventures with women who rip
Professional snowboarders Natasha Zurek, Hannah Teter and Kjersti Buassshow, and Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark show off their tricks at competitions at Big Bear and Copper Mountain. Clark and Zurek then hop on a helicopter for a ride to a big-mountain terrain park and carve big turns along steep ridge lines, racing down mountain bowls and throwing tricks usually reserved for the half pipe.

  • Riding among the mountain goats: Rockies, Canada
In this segment, five fearless young Banff natives give the Warren Miller film crew a tour of Alberta's Canadian Rockies that includes three ski resorts: Lake Louise and Sunshine Village in Banff, and Marmot Basin in Jasper. The skiers and riders skirt ridge lines, jump down rock cliffs, carve up chutes and defy gravity by throwing terrain park tricks in the ski areas' natural parks.

  •
  • Big Sky, big horses, big steeps: Montana Backcountry
The Big Sky Resort, located just outside Yellowstone National Park, is closed for the season, but Montana Powder Guide Lonnie Ball leads skiers Chris Anthony, Hugo Harrison and Cody Townsend ride horses and hike to the top of Lone Peak and onto North Bridgers, where the chutes are so steep that the skiers need the aid of their hands to climb up.

  • Western charm: Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Every winter for 90 years, residents have a Winter Carnival that includes events such as races where horses pull young skiers and snowboarders down a snow-covered street. The Steamboat Ski Area's half-pipe 'Marvericks' (named after a legendary California surfing spot) is as long as two football fields and features walls 15 feet high.

  • From perfect groomers to heli-skiing: Deer Valley, Utah, and Girdwood, Alaska
Twelve-year U.S. Ski Team veteran Heidi Voelker takes a few runs down the slopes as she introduces skiing's hot new female stars. Warren sends Charlotte Moats, Jenn Berg and Ingrid Backstrom to Deer Valley to test their skills. The trio then head to the Wasatch backcountry where they show off their strength and aerial skills while playing in the deep powder from an overnight storm.

  • Old school meets new school: Vail, Colorado
When Vail opened its slopes in 1962, Warren was there with his camera catching the fashionably-dressed skiers as they rode down the hill with their leather boots and wood skis, and this segment opens with some of Warren's vintage footage. Former World Powder 8 champion and current ski instructor Nina Oqvist finds several feet of fresh powder in Vail's trees.

  • Mammoth snow at Mammoth Mountain: California
Why has Warren faithfully skied Mammoth Mountain every winter since 1946 even though the first lifts weren't installed until 1957? Snow. Huge Pacific storms dump up to 60 feet of snow on the resort each winter, and Warren has the vintage footage to prove it. Warren talks to Mammoth's owner and founder, Dave McCoy, about the challenges he faced opening the ski area.

  • Going loco: Ski Paradise, Acapulco, Mexico
To the tropical sun of Gordon Rathbun's Ski Paradise in Acapulco. Skiers gain strength and agility by Rüking, a training method that includes running and hiking over uneven rocks and beaches, workouts on the water. Plake sheds his water ski for a try at barefoot skiing, while professional water skiers Jamie Beauchesne and Marcus Brown, and nine-time World Slalom champion Andy Mapple lay out huge carved turns.

  • Pristine wilderness: Wrangell-Saint Elias, Alaska
Saint Elias National Park and Kluane National Park, covers over 26 million acres of remote wilderness, making it the largest national park lands in the world. Due to its pristine nature, no helicopters are allowed in the park, so Ultima Thule Outfitters used a turbine-powered super otter to transport Nike ACG adventure athletes Sarah Clemensen, Ben Dolenc and Christian Santelices into the wilderness.

  • The national tour of IMPACT is presented by HUGO BOSS and co-sponsored by Hugo Boss, Nike ACG, The Daily Telegraph, Ski Lake Tahoe, Nissan, United Airlines, World Ski and the Ski Club of Great Britain.
