Snow Overview - Canada (snow news updated 31-Jan-2012)
More fresh snow fell across Canada over the weekend. Revelstoke (228cm) has enjoyed a great season so far with nearly seven metres of snow having fallen so far. Powder can be found on the mountain but milder weather recently means it's a bit softer down in the valley, at 600m.
It was a snowy weekend on the east coast of Canada too, with 13cm of fresh snow falling at Tremblant (71/84cm). All 12 of their lifts were running on Monday 30th January and the fresh snow gave superb skiing both on and off the runs.
More snow is expected in western Canada for the first half of the week but sunnier and colder weather is likely to return by the weekend.
North American Weather Outlook
Intermittent Light snow is forecast week across both America and Canada. The further west in Canada you go the heavier it will be, culminating in Whistler where the first half of the week should see around 50cm of fresh snow. After that, it should get colder.
Colorado's resorts should see some fresh snowfall later in the week. Vail is expecting around 10cm to fall on Thursday 2nd February with temperatures of around -10C.
