Snow Overview - Bulgaria (snow news updated 31-Jan-2012)
The heavy snowfall that blessed the Bulgarian resorts at the end of last week provided excellent riding on piste on Monday 30th January. The sun was shining, meaning the visibility was ideal to take advantage of the packed and groomed snow cover on the prepared slopes.
The deepest upper piste snow base of our three featured Bulgarian resorts is reported at Borovets (200/240cm), while Pamporovo (210/230cm) has the deepest lower slope depth, measured at 1700m which is 80m below the measured depth of 200cm at Borovets.
Fresh snow is forecast in Bulgaria over the coming days. Pamporovo is expecting the greatest amount of new snow, where almost 60cm of snow could fall by Tuesday 7th February.
