Recent developments and continued investment in the UK market have proved worthwhile for British Columbia's ski resorts, following a spate of recent prizes and accolades awarded by the British public and media. Whistler has been voted Best Ski Resort for the third time in four years in the Daily Telegraph's annual travel awards, the biggest annual survey of the British travelling public.
In the Which? Good Skiing & Snowboarding Guide 2004's annual roll call of best resorts, the Rockies resort of Fernie, famed for its knee deep powder, was named Best Resort in North America. Meanwhile, three resorts in the Okanagan region in BC's Interior also received accolades - Big White was named Family Resort of the Year, North America, Silver Star received Small Resort of the Year, North America, and Sun Peaks was named Most Improved Resort in North America. |
