Ski access couldn't be better with the Nasserein gondola just 50m from the doorstep, whilst the ski bus stops directly outside the chalet for a 4 minute drive to the Rendl and Galzig gondolas.

The chalet is light and airy and has been tastefully decorated and all the bedrooms have en suite facilities, a TV and a hairdryer. Our friends Reinhard and Olga live in a separate apartment situated on the ground floor.

There is also a sauna in the chalet so you can really unwind after a hard day on the slopes, in preparation for your mouth-watering chalet evening meal.

St Anton Resort Info

Famous for its awesome skiing and equally awesome après ski, St Anton is mostly an experts' resort, with its serious off-piste, moguls and powder. St Anton's pistes tend to be undergraded, however, with first-class guiding and instruction the mountain can be enjoyed by most levels, apart, perhaps, from very beginners.

Although St Anton doesn't quite match the chocolate box reputation of other Austrian resorts, it does offer an exceptional range of après-ski, with bars and clubs galore. Restaurants can be a bit hit and miss, but as most of St Anton's visitors just want to get on with the party, a quick snack is all that's required. Off-snow activites are a little thin on the ground, although you can always jump on a train and explore Innsbruck which is only one hour away.

Snow Overview - Austria  (snow news updated 31-Jan-2012)

A handful of resorts welcomed further snowfall on Saturday 28th January, such as Ischgl (100/220cm) although what did fall was a mere sprinkling. On Monday 30th January, there was more sunshine across our featured Austrian resort than expected. For example, Hintertux (130/290cm) enjoyed a lovely bluebird day with all but one lift in operation. However, in the SkiWelt area, resorts such as Ellmau (90/270cm) experienced low cloud which brought poor visibility. Monday also brought lower than usual temperatures to our featured Austrian resorts, which was great news as this meant excellent piste conditions were sustained. For instance, high resorts such as Obergurgl (90/160cm) and Obertauern (255/315cm) reported a temperature of around -10C.

European Weather Outlook

Cloudy and snowy skies are expected to loiter over the vast majority of European resorts over the coming days although only a light level of snowfall, around 1-2cm each day, is anticipated throughout the week. Sunshine is then expected to make a come back for the vast majority of resorts by the end of this week or the start of next week. The southern French Alpine resort of Isola 2000 however could receive up to 27cm of fresh snow on Tuesday 31st January, bucking the trend of just a dusting. The other weather news of note is that temperatures are set to drop, getting below -20C in many locations by the end of this week, so make sure you have some nice warm layers to put on.
