Chalet Fauner A   St Anton , Austria 4 Stars

Our view: Chalet Fauner is in peaceful surroundings, set into the hillside with views overlooking Rendl.

It is an excellent location, with a short (about 4 minutes) downhill walk providing all round convenience and easy access to the resort centre, lifts, slopes and ski school meeting points. Local Ski shop owner Alex Fauner created two lovely chalets - the  8 person chalet (Fauner B)  on the upper floors and this chalet on the lower floors, for up to 16 guests.

Chalet Fauner A

Features

  • Sleeps 16
  • Catered chalet
Fauner A is over the two lowest floors and there is a lift for weary ski legs!. On the lowest floor is the open plan living/dining room with lovely views towards Rendl, opposite. The dining area is recessed  and there is a comfortable sitting area with settees and tub chairs for relaxing, draw up a chair or two and its the perfect spot for your pre dinner aperitif and canapes!  The modern and comfortable en suite bedrooms are twins and  are all  a good size, with the majority being particularly spacious.  The chalet also benefits from a Wellness room with sauna and power showers - perfect after a hard day on the slopes! Though it really isn't very far from the slopes, if the thought of the uphill walk back to the chalet at the end of the day doesn't appeal then you can always jump on the bus which stops virtually at the end of the drive (the circular bus route will be longer than the walk back though!) . To make life easier you can always  leave your ski equipment (at a nominal charge if not rented) at the Fauner Sport Shop close to the main lifts, if you don't want to carry it back to the ski room at the chalet.

Breakfast

Start your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your day on the slopes, choose from a selection of cereals (not forgetting a bowl of Skiers porridge!), fresh fruit and yoghurts, freshly baked local bread and choice of preserves accompanied by fruit juices, tea and coffee. In addition, apart from chalet staff day off and change over day, and if you've got the room, enjoy a cooked breakfast!

Afternoon tea

On your return from the slopes, pop the kettle on and help yourself to a teatime treat with a slice (or two!) of delicious home-made cake or biscuits.

Dinner

Enjoy a delicious freshly cooked  dinner with unlimited house wine until coffee to finish.

St Anton Resort Info

Famous for its awesome skiing and equally awesome après ski, St Anton is mostly an experts' resort, with its serious off-piste, moguls and powder. St Anton's pistes tend to be undergraded, however, with first-class guiding and instruction the mountain can be enjoyed by most levels, apart, perhaps, from very beginners.

Although St Anton doesn't quite match the chocolate box reputation of other Austrian resorts, it does offer an exceptional range of après-ski, with bars and clubs galore. Restaurants can be a bit hit and miss, but as most of St Anton's visitors just want to get on with the party, a quick snack is all that's required. Off-snow activites are a little thin on the ground, although you can always jump on a train and explore Innsbruck which is only one hour away.
