Chalet Eishaus
Features
- Sleeps 28 - 32
- Catered chalet
Chalet Eishaus started life as a simple Austrian guesthouse
until we saw its potential and pulled off an almighty coup by securing
it exclusively for our guests. Now our guests are able to enjoy the
fabulous location with all the perks of a catered chalet – great food,
unlimited wine and exemplary service. There is no denying that
whilst the furnishings have bags of Austrian character, they are a little on
the retro side – but those in the know tell us the 80’s are back in fashion!
That said, this property has been home to savvy skiers for years and excels
in the details that really count; generously sized en suite bedrooms, ample
communal space with separate living and dining areas, heated ski and boot
room and a relaxed and informal vibe. Combined with that first rate location,
Chalet Eishaus is the perfect base for groups and individuals alike to enjoy
all Sölden has to offer – which, by the way, is plentiful!

closer by. As for the bars and restaurants on offer, you have the choice of
enjoying the nightlife local to the chalet or venturing into town which is only
250 metres away.
Sölden Resort Info
Solden is most well-known for its nightlife, which tends to be quite rowdy. There are lots of bars and clubs for hectic nights out, with a largely German and Dutch clientele. The town isn't overly attractive and has spread down the valley over the years. Traffic is a slight problem, as are the varied locations of accommodation. Ideally, you'll want to be near the lifts, or you'll have a long walk/short bus journey. The skiing is on both sides of the valley and unconnected, which can be a bit of a hassle.
The skiing itself is great, particularly with the new lift-link to the Rettenbach glacier, which guarantees year-round skiing. Most of the runs favour intermediates, especially better ones, with experts only getting a limited amount. The beginner runs are inconveniently located above the village and, because they are low down, can suffer from poor snow cover. On the whole, most of the skiing is found at high altitude (above 2000m) so snow is usually reliable.
Overall, Solden offers plenty of après-ski and drinking, but that often overshadows the fact that the skiing is great for intermediate skiers.
