Boarders can pat themselves on the back for the way skiwear has changed so
radically in the last few years. Skiers have been drawn away from one-piece
suits (didn't they look crap, even in their height of popularity) to funky,
practical jackets and pants that any self-respecting boarder wouldn't mind being
seen in.
That might be quite a controversial statement, but it has more than a glimmer
of truth in it. And although the biggest changes have been to skiwear this season,
boarding kit sure isn't getting left behind.
Snowboarding has always been about freedom of expression and individuality.
This still applies, but clothing for the sport is gradually changing in response
to the surge of fabrics on offer and the changes in skiers' clothing. Boarders
are looking for high-quality, durable and rip-stop fabrics that also give maximum
freedom to move and jump.
